Why do empires, great countries, not to mention banana republics collapsed and died? Their rulers, their elites, their military generals, their people, even their beggars all knew the end is coming. But none can stop the collapse, upheaval, death of their countries.

Because once it became half clear that national disaster is on the horizon, it is already too late. The deadly deeds have been done, and they are irreversible. Just like the collapse of the USSR, nobody can stop it. But one can move out of town when the riots and bloodshed arrives.

Seeing those hoards of consumers rush through the doors as if they were rushing toward their last chance of a morsel of food for weeks was disturbing, to say the least. THIS is what people care about? $198 laptops and ten dollar toasters? Apparently so.

Is it really the case that people aren’t “outraged” over certain injustices that have been perpetrated in the last decade? I feel outraged almost daily about something…the TSA, the nimwits in Washington, Monsanto. Maybe people are afraid to really speak up to their friends and neighbors for fear of being seen as a killjoy or a tiresome alarmist. But secretly many of us worry, and some of us even prepare.

Pathetic and, yes, disgusting behavior, but not animal behavior. Animals do not behave in this manner, only indoctrinated humans. This video, unfortunately, in striving to show the disconnect from reality in which many people operate, perpetuates the disrespect and ignorance of the natural world which has created the problem!

The funny thing is that I have been telling this to as many people that will listen. And with all the proof VERY visible. those same people ( college indotrinated ) still see.
Frigin rainbows and unicorns pooping scittles. How horribly sad to watch this all play out! And not really be able to much about it but prepare, prepare prepare. And be called names that most sailors would blush at.
Best luck to all of us.

Even highly educated people with Master’s degrees have been so brainwashed by the corporation media that they can’t see what is just around the corner. My daughter is one of them. As a mother who wants to see her child and first grandchild survive, how do you tell someone who will not listen and says, “I did not ask you for that information. I don’t want to know. I want to know what is going on with your life instead.” in other words, gossip about myself. So in order to be allowed to see my own granddaughter, I have to keep my mouth shut about the Collapse and not be myself, an open and honest person who loves her children and wants to see them live.

The most painful knowledge that I process right now is that I may have to face their deaths at the hands of such “people” as seen in this video when hyperinflation hits. She rages at me for moving across the country to a state where the foundation for locally grown food is already well established and where many people from all walks of life and across the political spectrum are preparing for the collapse while she sits in Washington D.C. playing mommy with her newborn, partying with her friends and watching sports on TV with her husband while murderous gangs roam the streets already. I feel like Cassandra before the sack, rape and burning of Troy.

Last 2 years I have seen many “End of kapitalistic society” movies. One harder, brutal than the other. To 1 of these movies, we “the enlighted”, have to publish 10 others. Showing the couragious view, of individuals or groups living the future on their own means. They who ended the alienation from nature and caring for their basic needs. It’s not only growing your own vegetables and cereals; or ” small is beatiful”. We are making movies with vision. Small daily things that we do different. How? Look for transition towns, permaculture, ecovillages, and many others working with joy before and after the unavoidable colapse of the ‘society of the indifferent’.

    Update:

I am happy to say that my daughter has taken a new direction in life by acquiring medical skills after having a second child. She understands what she needs to do for the survival of her young family and is talking about moving away from the east coast. I am temporarily in a land-based intentional community learning permaculture and living sustainability while my adopted tribe searches for land to build our own Ecovillage and a healing center. I await for my daughter to say, “I’m ready, come and get me and my children, Mom.” while I help build a new society. It looks like my son may beat her coming west; his skills with engines will be invaluable.

IC living is a rough life, but I would not give it up for all the money in the world. I feel rich in body and spirit living close to the land, harvesting food that I planted as a seed while working side by side with people who are authentic. Just what a shaman like me needed.

As the transition happens at a slower rate than predicted, and I see human history repeat itself in a slow slide downward as Western civilization dies, I feel confident that humans will not only survive but will mature as a species into adulthood.

Thank you for your comment. A couple of questions:

Slower rate than predicted? Please watch Guy McPherson’s presentation on Near-Term Extinction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFY31MIubG4

How is your community preparing for this?
