When you know the truth about our predicament and have no one to talk with about what you know, it can be painful. Sometimes when we are surrounded by people who prefer to remain oblivious, we begin feeling crazy and tend to doubt our own truth. Often, this makes it even more difficult to move ahead and prepare for an uncertain future, doing the things we know we need to do. If this describes your situation, consider life coaching.
What is life coaching?
Life coaching is profoundly different from mentoring, advice-giving, therapy, or counseling. The coaching process addresses specific transitions, goals, or projects that are going on right now and discovering what the obstacles or challenges might be, then choosing a course of action to make your life the way you want it to be.
Life coaching is an alliance where the coaching relationship empowers you because it is assumed that you know the answer to every challenge you have in your life, even if those answers may not be obvious.
Life coaching in the context of navigating an uncertain future is unique, and it is important to work with a coach who understands that uncertainty. Some of the issues for which people seek coaching are:
- Relationships and intimacy
- Stress management and balance
- Seeking one’s life purpose and how to fulfill it
- Spirituality and personal growth
- Family and parenting
- Wellness, aging, lifestyle, and self-care
- And much more…

From day one a thick sediment of erroneous belief and idealism is deposited in our brain, these act as mental blocks to our understanding of how and why the world operates in the way it does, getting rid of them that’s the hard part. Knowing the truth is a positive not a negative even if it puts us at odds with the group.
In no way was I suggesting that knowing the truth is a negative. What my work is about is supporting people in being with the truth when no one around them wants to hear it and that reality creates pain in their lives.
